DJ Bucher won 2 gold (Team, Rings) and 2 bronze (All Around, Pbars) medals at the Jr Pan Americans in Brazil on November 24th. Four junior gymnasts were chosen to represent the United States
Future Star National Team Member – Julian Whittle
Julian Whittle competed in Colorado at the Future Stars Nationals and finished 13th and qualified to the Future Star National Team Member. Julian won the vault competition, 2nd on rings and 5th on Parallel Bars!
Alex Barrenechea Competes in Sidney
Frequent Spanish visitor Alex Barrenechea competed at the 2000 Olympics.
Alex competed all around for Spain and finished 34th in all around finals.

USA Championships
DJ Bucher made the Jr. National Team at USA Championships by placing 2nd in the All Around, Pbars, and Pommels. Aaron Rakes placed 8th AA and 4th on Pbars.
Queen City has placed a male gymnast on the National Team 9 times – John Bliesener (’90), Michael Morgan (’93-95), Matt Metzger (’96), DJ Bucher (’97,’98,’00) and Aaron Rakes (’99)
2000 Jr. Nationals
Queen City had a great showing at Nationals. DJ Bucher is the National Champion in rings in the Junior Elite 2 division. He also placed 2nd on horse and 3rd on floor and 3rd All Around. He along with Aaron Rakes qualified to USA Championships. Aaron placed 7th AA, 3rd High Bar, 4th Vault and 6th Pbars. Nate Downs also made all around finals placing 22nd. Queen City is the only team in the country with 2 Junior Elite 2’s qualifying to USA Championships.
2000 Regionals
Queen City had a great regionals. DJ Bucher (1st AA) and Aaron Rakes (2nd AA) between them won every event in Junior Elite 2. Nathan Downs also made regional team and Nationals by placing 4th AA. John Harrison (Junior Elite 2) and Junior Elite 1, Jason Doose (1st Pbars) also qualified to Nationals.

2000 Winterfest
Complete 2000 Winterfest results and pictures are posted. Thanks to all the parents for running such a great meet, with over 430 gymnasts. Congrats to the Class 1&2 Team, Class 3 Team and Class 4 team for winning the team title. The Class 5 and Class 6 Teams came in 3rd. Great Job!
2000 Whitfield

Stanford Open
The Boy’s Team went to the Stanford Invitational and won both the Class 1/National Team Title and the Class 2&3 Team Title.

Hyde Park Invite
Congratulations to the class 6’s who won the team title at the Hyde Park Invitational. Ryan Burket had the highest all around score of the meet.
Windy City Invitational
Our optional boys competed with over 600 other gymnasts at the Windy City Invitational in Chicago. The class 2’s won the team title with Aaron Rakes winning the all around.
